What we do
I am a freelance illustrator, facilitator and executive team coach. My personal interests include art, media, ethics, new communication technology, visual communication and social media.
Working with an established group of artists and facilitators selected for their ability in listening and interpreting, Visual Communication facilitates group or individual events.
We transform the ordinariness of work. The perception of visual language either supports or undermines your message, liberates or entraps your thinking, and inspires or inhibit your spirits. Intuitive understanding transforms a situation, company or person, enabling reinvention with improved comprehension and performance.
Graphic facilitation at events
We like to call this the ‘art of conferencing’. We attend and listen to presentations or discussions by the speakers and other participants at your event, and visually conceptualise the resulting meanings and themes, producing images and illustrations with accompanying text. This is done by illustrators in real time (live) as your event occurs, with the results being created whilst simultaneously on display around the perimeter of the room in which the event takes place.
Graphic facilitation is a useful tool for telling the story of your company, enhancing messages for internal communication, clarifying misunderstood issues, and creatively liberating the participants. Our clients find that the process frees people to say things that might remain unsaid, make suggestions, and ask questions. After the event, you retain possession of the graphic output, which is also available on request in digital file format.
Team development
Visual Communication can help with aiding understanding of aims, relationships and interpersonal communication issues within teams at your organisation. Through our process, we can seek to explore and understand what is happening between colleagues, what your employees needs are, help with aligning team goals, and cover areas of motivation, celebration/reward, cultural values and behavioural challenges, as well as many other areas. The result of this is improved understanding in the group and better teamwork.
Leadership
We can help management become leaders as opposed to simply managers or bosses, involving and driving the whole organisation to success. We work towards establishing and communication a common vision/goal, and learning through collaboration and exploration.
Creative workshops
Working with a group of schools, or directly with students with behavioural difficulties, Visual Communication helps them to express their feelings, remember childhood, and move on for the future.
Personal portraits
We provide a portrait service, delivering paintings or pictures of the subject that truly reflect their character, dreams, achievements and life journey.
Instructions and other visual documents
Visual Communication can create illustrations and graphics to clarify written instructions or documents to promote a clearer understanding of what is needed.
Video animation films
On request, Visual Communication also makes short animated films, illustrating key messages and outcomes from events such as conferences, presentations or meetings.
Company branding
We can help with the branding of your organisation, reflecting your values and telling the story behind it. We use the past to explain the present, and help to see the future.
